Rolling hills of Umbria and Lazio

Having seen photos of the villa and surrounding areas, we thought it looked great but actually being here for the past week, it truly is stunning! The countryside is magnificent as we drove through the many vineyards and explored so many hilltop medieval villages. So much to do but so little time. A full day in Orvieto is a must as the cathedral and museum are quite breathtaking and Maria’s information booklet was a bible for us to explore the local area and restaurants – she knows everything there is worth knowing about the local area which you simply cannot find on Trip Advisor! A hidden treasure!! and we have already booked to return in 2019

Best Pizza in town

Great villa, clean, spacious and fully equipped with everything we needed. Local pizza restaurant, two minutes walk away was superb for takeaway pizza and another restaurant, BorgoVejo, was also excellent. There is so much to see in this area in terms of sightseeing with something different to see each day, includingLake Bolsena with all its watersports and beaches, Orvieto old town, Civita di Bagnoregio, and Rome. A truly wonderful holiday and we can’t wait to go back to see more.

Immerse yourself in the Italian culture

We simply adored this villa. It has a wonderful airy feel to it, with two huge living areas on separate floors which were fantastic when we wanted quiet time away from the kids! The bedrooms are all air-conditioned which is essential and the kitchen was very well equipped along with the three dining areas in the house. The pool is perfect for us and we particularly liked the outside dining area with BBQ!  This villa is situated in a typical Italian village and we really felt part of the town which is exactly what we wanted. We even made friends in the local gelateria and bars and learned some new Italian words. I cannot recommend Casa Umbria enough, Maria’s advice and tips were invaluable saving us time and money and I will definitely be returning.

Festa del Vino – a festival of wine!

Everything about our stay was amazing including the clean, modern accommodation, the beautiful countryside, and the local restaurants. The highlight of our stay was the lively ‘Festa Del Vino’ which offered live music, great food, dancing and most importantly…great wine! Something for everyone of all ages. It was also just a 5-minute walk from the house making it easy and simple to get to.

In addition, the house being so close to Rome, we were able to enjoy the many sites of Rome but still return to our little piece of paradise that same evening for some quiet time! Thanks for a great trip and all the advice, we have already booked to come back next year.
